Period Loss on a Vegan Diet






Hey everyone, thanks for watching! This video is about my experience with hypothalamic amenorrhea. There are many reasons for period loss and if you are struggling with period loss, disordered eating, orthorexia, or compulsive exercise, please seek professional help. You owe it to yourself to get better and help is out there. You are not alone.

I often get questions from people asking “how many calories should I eat to get my period back?”. When it comes to calories, there is no magical number, what you need is based on your unique physiology and physical activity. In many people, their weight may need to surpass their weight they were before they lost their period to maintain a monthly cycle. Adequate fat and carbohydrate intake is very important as these are the most under consumed macronutrients in young menstruators.
